The Godbreak and Reforging

The Godbreak:
• The gods are sundered, broken, or killed in some way, leaving only the gods of the Forge and Magic largely unaffected, as they typically remain neutral in all things and have few mortal champions.
• The Forge God and the Magic God gather the physical and metaphysical pieces of every other god.

The Reforging:
• The gods' bodies are remade and repaired by the Forge God, and their power is reunited with them by the Magic God, bringing them back to life.
• This leaves them living again, but altered a bit by the Forge God's Domain in the expression of their power. They tend towards producing items of power rather than directly empowering people, now, and they find that they can't produce as many as they once could, despite their power not being diminished by the Reforging.

There's more to it than that, but it's mostly small details that can be altered or changed as the world requires.
